John received his undergraduate degree in Painting in 1982 from Guilford College, in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 1983, he moved to New York City, and two years later began graduate studies in Venice, Italy, through New York University. He completed his Masters in Painting in 1987.

His work has been exhibited in New York City, Venice, Italy, Boston, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Provincetown and Truro, MA, Winston-Salem, NC, and Charlotte, NC.

For over ten years, John's paintings of flowers, sticks, and vines have been available through the traditional gallery system. Now, John is making a selection of his work available directly through this site.
